President Obama Addresses the Economy

It’s been a busy week for Barack Obama. Tuesday, the president unveiled his new strategy for the war in Afghanistan. Today, in the wake of his announcement of 30,000 additional American troops headed overseas, he addressed another daunting issue of his presidency: the struggling economy. Speaking at Lehigh Carbon Community College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, President Obama welcomed the news of only 11,000 jobs lost in November (115,000 fewer than forecast), stressed the need to strengthen our economy, and reminded the audience that millions of Americans are still looking for work.
