Don't forget to set your car clocks forward!
I was on my way to LAX airport last Fall when I glanced at the clock in my car and discovered in a panic that I was going to be much later than I had expected. It was an early morning flight, and I thought I had left enough time to stop and get gas on the way, but traffic in the dark morning drive was heavier than usual. According to my car's clock, I no longer had the extra hour that I had planned, and would be lucky to make my gate in time to board the plane. It wasn't until I rushed to the security checkpoint (thank goodness I had checked in and printed my boarding pass from home!) that I saw the time on my cell phone and realized I had plenty of time: I had simply forgotten to move the clock in the car back an hour when I reset the house clocks for Daylight Savings Time. D'oh! As the not-quite-official automotive supplier to Daylight Savings Time, the team at Suzuki knows all too well the challenges faced by this mid-March transition. While 'fall back' graces us with both morning sunshine and an extra hour of sleep (perfect for Suzuki's 20-something, party-hearty demographic), the move in March is more traumatic, with one hour less of nighttime slumber and the subsequent delay - by that same hour - of those pursuits best done in the dark. That said, the Suzuki team is all about the payoff: With an automotive menu (navigation throughout the lineup, and continuing - via the SX4 Crossover - with the country's least expensive all-wheel drive) fully appropriate to 'springing forward', Suzuki in 2010 shines its light on America's most expressive affordable sport sedan, the all-new Kizashi. In moving your clocks forward this Saturday (Daylight Savings officially begins at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 14), remember to change the clock in your car. And if that car isn't a new Suzuki, they suggest you might even want to change your car: Suzuki's trained team of sales and delivery professionals will happily change the clock for you.
