Little tips to better your mojo

Although today’s society is more open to female assertiveness, there seems to be more times when men dominate than when women do.

In other words, a chick can have an entire room wrapped around her finger thanks to her beauty, charm, and witty banter while a man can control a crowd with his suave words and ability to coerce. In a sex-driven world, it’s seldom that members of the same gender respect one another in the way they do the opposite.

More and more, though, women are taking over men’s roles and getting what they want regardless of their audience due to their expanding knowledge. But what about the apprehensive chicks who are too afraid to stand up and declare their desires? And how about the ones who are too passive to get what they deserve - that is, good service? Well timid chicks, this one’s for you.

Compliments

Believe it or not, compliments can get you very far. If you’re at a restaurant, there are several ways you can guarantee good service through this technique. For starters, comment on the hostess’ blouse. By staring on the right foot, you’re more likely to get a better table and a better waiter if available. When the waiter does arrive, let him know that he’s doing a good job despite how packed it is. They’ll be thankful for your observation and will likely be more concerned about pleasing you because of it. Putting yourself in the other person’s shoes allows you to take a step back and think about how you’d like to be acknowledged.

Tip Well and Tip Often

For those chicks who have a favorite place to dine or visit, you’ll want to exercise this method. The better you tip, the better your service is going to be - particularly the next time around. If you’re getting you’re using a valet service, tip them before they park your car. That way, you can guarantee you’ll get your car in a timely manner when you’re ready for it.

Get Your Flirt On

As foolish as it may seem, flirting is a sincere form of flattery. If you’ve got a man attending to you, that’s great. You can play up his assets to the best of your ability and bank on the fact that he’s milking it for all it’s worth. If you have another chick, flirting may not be your best bet. Being friendly, however, is. If you give her attitude or disrespect her, she won’t appreciate it. But if you treat her as your equal, you rest assured that she’ll give you all she’s got.

Be Polite

Remember when your mom told you to always have manners? She wasn’t lying. If something doesn’t go your way, don’t take it out on your server. Don’t complain, request to speak to a manger, or freak out unless it’s absolutely necessary. Your making a scene won’t get you what you want - it’ll only make them want to serve you less. If you handle the situation with an understanding that mistakes happen, they’ll be even happier to serve you. Who knows, they may even throw in a bonus - like a free dessert - for your patience.

Pay it Forward

I’m a strong believer in both positive and negative karma. If a stranger treats you with the respect you know you deserve, don’t just bask in it - return the favor by respecting another. The kinder you are to other people, the kinder others will be to you. It seems like common sense but this message is often lost.

Good service is not always easy to achieve. Keep in mind that everyone is entitled to their bad days so don’t pass judgment on someone until you know what they’ve been faced with. If you follow the above, it’s certain that good service will follow. Most importantly, don’t forget the Golden Rule, “Treat others how you wish to be treated.” You’d be surprised how far a little consideration goes.
