The Daily Show gives Olivia Munn a tryout
I don’t know how much I like the fact that we know that the Daily Show is “trying” out a woman — Olivia Munn — to be a correspondent on the show. Based on its abysmal track record, this show should be on a mission to add not just one woman, but several. I don’t remember that the guys had to “try out” to get their gigs (though one story mentioned that Josh Gad tried out last year), but at least there is forward motion in the area of the lack of female talent on that show. The piece was kind of a hodge podge but it signaled that Samantha Bee is going to be off on maternity leave so they really better get their shit together and sign up this woman. Only problem is she’s in a new sitcom — Perfect Couples- -that just got picked up by NBC, so she probably won’t have too much time to do Daily Show segments.
