Last night, John McCain’s Twitter engaged in some important discourse about the health-care bill’s 10 percent tax on tanning salons with “Snooki,” which is the chosen name of one of the Jersey Shore people. See if you can spot the pop-culture pun. No cheating. O.K., time’s up. It’s “the Situation,” which not only refers to an event that exists but also to another Jersey Shore person! Topical, right? (That’s another pun, which means we are now tied with John McCain.) McCain’s daughter Meghan, a Daily Beast rhetorician, gleefully retweeted McCain’s response, as did Snooki herself, adding, “Haha Yes!!” President Obama’s Twitter, presumably unable to generate a proportionate diss, did not comment.
