Antismoking groups are taking on tobacco industry for targeting womenPost | 02/26/2009 4:15 pm The tobacco industry has never been known for subtlety — and that’s no less true in their marketing toward women, say antismoking groups. The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, American Heart Association and other groups today accused Philip Morris and R.J. Reynolds of developing and advertising products aimed specifically at women. With regard to Philip Morris, the groups take specific aim at their Virginia Slims line of smokes, while they criticize R.J.
