At Home All Natural DIY Facials
The elements, stress, and our lifestyle all are worn on our skin. Our faces are usually the first thing someone sees, and if we want to make a good impression we need to take care of our skin. Every woman loves to be pampered; however, not all of us can afford this glorious luxury. There is a way you can afford to give your impression maker a treat without breaking the bank. All you really have to do is open your kitchen cabinets. The ingredients you will need for this at home facial are: Dry Oatmeal Granulated White Sugar Baking Soda Fresh Lemon to Juice Plain Yogurt Olive and Castor Oil Strawberries Step One: the Cleanse Take about a handful of baking soda, some freshly squeezed lemon juice, and mix them in warm water. Splash this on your face to clear away oil and dirt. This mixture will open up your pores and prepare your face to be further pampered. Step Two: the Mask Strawberries are an excellent source of Ascorbic Acid which has anti-oxidant properties. Anti-oxidants rid our body of free radicals which cause cancer. Take fresh strawberries and mash them and mix them with plain yogurt. Yogurt contains a beta-hydroxyl acid known as salicylic acid. This acid is used in many cosmetics to fight acne and aging. Smooth this mask over your face and leave for 10-15 minutes. Wash away with a warm wash cloth. To aid in the removal of blackheads, take equal parts of the olive oil and castor oil (about the size of a quarter) in the palm of your hand. Rub palms together heating the oils. Take and place over nose, chin, or wherever you have trouble with blackheads. Place a hot rag over your face to steam your pores. Repeat the process for a couple of minutes. Rinse with warm wash cloth. Step Three: the Scrub Oatmeal is hypoallergenic and is great for softening skin. The sugar is abrasive without being too harsh. Take a handful of the dry oatmeal and of sugar and mix them together in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and some lemon juice. Add water as necessary to make the consistency paste like. Massage into face in circular motion starting on the brow bone and working downward. Wash away with warm water. Step Four: the Astringent Witch Hazel has been used to heal wounds, and in many cosmetics for the prevention and healing of break-outs. It is made from the leaves and bark of the witch hazel shrub. Take a cotton ball and soak in this astringent. Apply in an upward motion to your neck and face. This facial is easy and affordable. Invite your friends over and have a spa themed party. You can incorporate mani-pedis and hair treatments as well. Or if you just want to stick with the facials, ask them to bring one of the ingredients with them. This will cut down the cost for everyone. Fatima Meadows attends Appalachian State University. She loves being pampered and taking care of her body.
