To the Batcave! It's the Batmobile through the ages!
&loc I just spent about an hour staring at this image, and I just HAD to share it here. I don't know the artist(s) who designed this thing, but kudos to whoever it was. This thing is awesome! It was commissioned by CarInsurance.org, and it's a representation of every Batmobile used in the Batman comics, television series, and films, from the original bright red 1930 Cord to the 1955 Lincoln Futura model famously driven by Adam West in the 60's television show to the jet-powered Tim Burton model (which, as it turns out, was built from two Impalas) to the "tumbler" model currently driven by Christian Bale's dark knight. It includes information such as the car that served as the "base" for each build, and detailed information for the more well-known and iconic Batmobiles. Confession time: I am a comic book reader. As a fan, I knew the Batman's ride had changed quite a bit over the years, but there were many of these that were completely new to me. If I were pressed to choose a favorite, it'd be a toss-up - I've always loved the Futura from the TV show, but I also really like the current "standard" Batmobile in the comics. It's the one labeled "2009: Batman Reborn." I like it because it's completely unique and almost alien in its design - it's amphibious, submersible, and also capable of flight. Which Batmobile is your favorite? Do you like the more "car-like" ones (like the several variations based on various model Porsches), the more rugged tank-like "realistic" ones such as Chris Nolan's Tumbler and the 2010 "The Return" model, or the sleek and futuristic like the Tim Burton and 2009 models? Let us know in the comments. The whole image is MASSIVE, so I won't embed it directly into this post, but you should definitely take a look at it. Be patient as it takes some time to load, but your patience will soon be rewarded! See the Evolution of the Batmobile here
